New York is now trying to pass a new version of the assault weapons ban to replace their old one that now includes: allowing the superintedent of state police to classify any semi auto firearm that doesn't meet the definition of assault weapon as an assault weapon, confiscation of already existing legally owned guns that are defined as assault weapons, and making it illegal to own more than 3 guns, no matter what kind they are, if you own 3 bolt action rifles (a .22 for practice, one for varmits like coyote, and one that fires a more powerful round for deer) and a shotgun you would be required to get rid of one or be slapped with a class D felony.  Gee this looks like something that only affects criminals.  At least they got rid of their previous idea to redefine high capacity magazine as any magazine over 7 rounds instead of the original any magazine over 10 rounds.  Oh and do you want to tell me again how there is no such thing as the "slippery slope?"
